The redevelopment of the Old Electricity Works in St Albans was a unique and sensitive project focused on restoring and enhancing a historic site. Our task was to deliver expert brickwork that respected and seamlessly integrated with the building’s original character. This required an intense attention to detail and the selection of materials that honored the site’s past. We carefully sourced and utilized red bricks chosen specifically to match the existing historic facade. The work involved various specialist techniques, including the precise execution of plinth work and ensuring all finishes were exceptionally crisp and clean. The challenge was to marry modern structural integrity with the authentic look of the original architecture, all while maintaining the high standards expected for a landmark heritage site.
